Lotus

Faction Members

______________________________

Faction associated with fundamental leadership aspects and management of the network.

The founders built the Lotus philosophy around a shared artistic and principled vision that could take many forms and the group as a whole would share in success. A dignitary known as Brotha Dong procured the faction's inception and along with Bevon the Muse, built the foundation of present day Bossalaus.

The vision was to form an organization of artists, entrepreneurs, and musicians that would share knowledge and resources while educating new generations of membership to maximize output and potential. Once Bossalaus took shape as the nameplate for the organization, Lotus members started to refer to themselves as "Nobodies from Nowhere", positioning themselves as middlemen between participants and the ocean of all media where "Nobody knows, Nobody cares, Nobody can help you". Currently the Columbia Basin members of Bossalaus are referred to as "Nobodies from Nowhere".

Most Generation 1 Bossalaus members identify as Lotus. The original Lotus production team started to accumulate in the first few years of the 21st century, surrounding the release of No Samples Cleared: The Mixtape during 2000.

The Lotus Rap Style

By nature, Lotus emcees are more lyrical and poetic than their counterparts. There is a general drive for complexity and challenging wordplay throughout the faction. While most of their peers follow a basic song format, Lotus likes to experiment with unusual song structures and progressions. Each has their own distinct flow patterns and there is evidence of cross influences throughout. Lotus members are known to pack dictionaries and other reference books with them when writing lyrics.
